Didn't grow up watching movies; had seen only two films by the time he was 18. Traveled to Australia after graduating high school and spent a year working odd jobs; kept Aussie accent for two years after returning to the U.S. Originally studied law in college but switched to film after reading Og Mandino's The Greatest Salesman in the World .
